Data protection in companies is becoming increasingly complex

Since the EU GDPR came into force and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection Act (FADP) was updated in 2023, the requirements for handling personal data have increased dramatically. Now the EU AI Act is the next major challenge. The new law, which came into force at the beginning of August 2024, brings additional requirements for the traceability and documentation of data processing processes, especially when using AI systems. Swiss companies with branches and subsidiaries in the EU may also be affected by the EU AI Act.
